The Sidekick 3 Help Page and User Manual

A few readers have sent in the link to the Sidekick online owner's manual, this is where you will see Sonicboom (what was on the Sidekick 3 I used) and a few other things that might look familiar. It's a must read for anyone who can't wait for the Sidekick to launch and should also answer all of your questions everyone has been asking in the forums. Click HERE for the link.

I noticed something.

According to T-Mobile rep information and the Sidekick Reference Guide, there's no MMS but the following evidence leads me to believe that an OTA (Over-The-Air) Update could provide us with MMS messaging. This is extremely important to me because I have my girlfriend and other relatives in the Philippines who I could then send/receive photos with via MMS.

Here's what I've got:

1) One of BSD's original screen shots from a couple days ago which clearly reads "Multimedia Messaging." Find the post here.

2) Check out the Camera section of the Help Page and click on the anchor link for "Send Photos." The text reads:

"Press MENU then select Send Checked > via Email [ M] or via MMS. A new email or MMS compose screen will appear with your photos shown as attachments. If you attach too many photos to an email message, you will be prompted to remove some. If you attach too many photos to an MMS message, only the first three photos will be attached."

What do you all think?

If you look at the manual for the SK2 it also has that MMS mumbo jumbo in it. IIRC the dirty canadians have MMS capabilities on their network.

Where did you see the calculator app cost? It was free on the previous SK and I believe it will be free on SK3.

With regard to using your own ringtones, there's this:

On the old "select a ringer" context menu there's an option that says "Record" so while you can't use your actual mp3s (and anyway you probably wouldn't get to your favorite part of the song anyway by the time voice mail picked up) you can record short music clips. I don't remember exactly but I think the manual said 10 secs.
