New Exclusive High Res Sidekick 3 Pic (Here's the Grey Screen I Saw)

This should put to rest a few areas of rumor on the Sidekick 3 as this is the highest resolution picture to the hit the Internet yet. It shows details of the menu and it confirms the mention of the trackball, and shows the grey background I saw when I used it. It also confirms the legitimacy of the OS screenshots I posted recently. Here is something for the supersleuths though: in the first part of the drop down menu, above the word Blue(tooth), what do you think that "Airp" is...airport I think...but what is that? Check back soon, I have some more details coming.

If you want to play show and tell, email me at sidekicker3@gmail.com

IMMMM First!!!! (janzil) "jeaype"...nice i love the new sidekick 3..cant wait...good job BSD...

my guess is that the "Air..." thing you see has something to do with being able to turn off the wireless antenna when on an airplane so you can still use the mp3 player and play games.

THANK YOU BSD, WE KNOW WHERE TO COME NOW FOR REAL INFO UPDATES.

AIRP= airplane mode

At 8:12 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Actually that's probably "airplane mode" which turns off the transmitter/receiver to comply with FAA regulations without turning the device off.

I'm really hoping this blog is the real deal. Can't wait to get my hands on the sk3

"Airp" is for an "Airplane Mode." It allows you to shut off the wireless while keeping the other features on, so you can use it on a plane.

At 8:18 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Airp* is probably Airplane Mode to turn off wireless for use on the plane.

it looks like you can finally change the default background on the menu screen. about damn time.

I wonder if you can change the background image. That was one of the big complaints people had with the Sidekick II; not being able to choose their own background image. I wonder if thats the reason we have seen different backgrounds in the different pictures shown.

Ok we all get it, airplane mode turns off da atenna. But now lets look at the OS. The cicrcles are more bent towards the left, you can tell cuz if u open the menu on da sk2 it touches 2 circles. Also the mnu is in a diffrent order (not including the new stuff)

Does anyone know how much the "Trade-in" program will be? I never owned a sidekick , but i know people traded in their oold black and white SKs for SKII with no problem, i was just wondering what the price difference you had to pay. Cuase i could get a SKII right now for free with new activation, and wanted to knwo if it was worth it to just get it and do a trade in program as oppossed to activating a SKIII...any help would be appreciated =)

Its definitely airplane mode. You can see a little picture of an airplane just above the bluetooth icon.

At 9:10 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

yep its airport it has a little plane icon

Well thats what I see :)

I want it now lol do we know if the "26th June" is worldwide release or just US?

Definite Observations:

1. You can make out an airplane symbol to the left of AIRP... Very probable that it is Airplane mode like everyone mentioned.

2. The jumpScreen background images seem to be full screen now with what looks to be transparency on the bubbles around the jumpScreen Program Icons.

3. A downer is the screen resolution. It looks like we will all be stuck with 240 x 160, same as Sidekick 2. As much as higher resolution would have been better, it would of make things a lot smaller which some people don't like.

As Jonathan has told, i think that The Airp... is for Airport/Airplane & it's for a Special use in a Airport Area & planes for enjoy Wi-fi & more gratuitously.........if it's the case..it's very Good.

Thanks SBD

Wow...Sweet pic. THAT looks totally legit :)

At 9:44 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I agree, the text looks to be the same rez, but the images in the background seem to have a bit more detail to them, I mean in comparison to sk2, maybe its a psychological thing :)

At 10:28 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

If you look under the Help area of the menu there is some text that says "Back....."

Could it be the settings for Backgorund?

At 11:00 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

chances are that "back" on the jump setting pop up is the place u go to change the backgrounds. so u can probably have both bckgrounds pictured in all these posts and probably more

At 11:02 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

anonymous 10:28 AM raises a good question. I assumed the background would be changed under Battery & Display, but what do you guys think? It does say "Back". Could be background.

At 11:16 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

This is Photo is REAL..

At 11:25 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Maybe backlight?

At 11:41 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

looks like the resolution is a little better.

Some phones and other wireless devices have a special "airplane mode" that turns off just the wireless radio parts of the device, for safe use on an airplane.

Most airlines and many governments ban the use of wireless radio devices during flight, to prevent interference with the plane's radio and navigation systems.

Airplane mode therefore allows the user to safely use the non-wireless functions of a phone (such as games or organizer functions) on an airplane during flight.

However, not all airlines have policies that accomodate devices with airplane mode; some airlines still ban the use of all phones during flight regardless.

The thing that sais back could be backround OR Back-UP for the memmory or some other word that starts with back lol

At 12:04 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

the backlight settings is under battery and display on the sk2. so its probally in the same spot.

At 12:28 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Probably fake, where's AutoText and System Info?

At 2:13 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Im puzzled on why they have options for the trackball. i mean what possible options could there be for the trackball which helps navigate on the s3?

At 2:24 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I think its pretty cool!
Uhm, I do think that the screen should have a higher resolution!
as everyone has already said, the AIR is probably airplane mode! which just turns off the wireless antenea!
yupp!
OH man!

At 4:28 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Its probably there its just that the pic is cut off on top if u noticed or he just scrolled down the setting menu...this pic is real no doubt about it....i just want to know how he got it

At 5:31 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Can anyone tell me why the screen is grey in this pic, and is it going to be grey all the time or only when in the manue?

At 5:33 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

ok but.. since when does it say the # of the sidekick in any of the menu or the options.."About Sidekick3" when in the sidekick2 it says "About Sidekick" just something to point out, hopefully this pic is real anyway

At 2:20 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

it says Bluetooth, zoom in, it has the bluetooth sign

At 4:31 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

if you look close you will see the scroll arrow on the top of menu to scroll up. thats where the AutoText and System Info would most likely be.
just a thought.

1 THING THAT I WANTED TO KNOW IS...? Y IN ALL THE PICTURES U HAVE? THERE ISNT A PLACE WHERE THERE COULD BE A SPEAKER FONE?

At 6:38 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Why doesn't the person that's giving these pictures to "BSD" just takes a whole lot more, cuz ok, you're showing us pictures of the screen WOO WHOO!(sarcasm), but if u really have the phone take dozens of pics and put 'em online for all the fans, I know I sure would, cuz what's the point of showin us the damn screen, in like 3 diff pics, show us the while phone

At 6:39 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Ok....? so how much is it gonna cost..?

At 7:53 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

"just that dude said" wondered what settings about the trackball could need their own menu option for adjusting and i can think of a few, MAYBE turning it off if you don't like it, and making it so that the d-pad is the only option for movement around the screens, or, MORE likely, adjusting the color opitons, or, Most likely, it is for adjusting the speed settings, like you have the option to adjust on the track pad of a laptop, to pick how fast it scrolls per one roll of the ball or something. just a thought.

At 12:28 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I think "bsd" should take a lot of pics of the whole phone like the keyboard, its sides, the back with and without that plate on, and something like a video playing.

At 2:00 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

ok i think wat we should have is a video so it could finaly be proven even though this is a crazy picture that convinces u that sk3 is true but i want a video insted of a wack picture

At 10:27 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

For the millionth time, just for the sheer fun of posting... Airport Mode. ;)
