Exclusive Sidekick Pic with Alternate Graphic

At first glance, you say big deal, another pic of the Sidekick 3...but look again. What is up with that image? What is that girl wearing, a track suit? Who is that dude in the Orange shirt? It looks and smells like a T-Mobile Sidekick 3, but why is the image different? This pic comes from someone who is a "cell phone valet" in the Bay Area and always sees the latest phones coming out because she gets to "confiscate" them for a short period. She wouldn't tell me where she worked, only that really likes the new Nokia E61. Could it be this is a special T-Mobile Sidekick 3 meant to be sampled for another carrier other than T-Mobile? We have heard rumors of other carriers looking to pick up the Sidekick 3...what do you think?

Remember as always, if you have Sidekick 3 pics to share, send them to sidekicker3@gmail.com

No, no other carriers will be picking up the Sidekick 3 because you still see the T-Mobile logo on the sk3 itself, that's probably what the menu and icons (which are both changed) will look like after the OTA update is received (Mark My Words On That 1)

What do you mean other carriers for T-mobile SK3? I like it were it is...T-mobile has great customer service.

Well, I hope SK3 allows you downward better wallpaper than what is currently being used on SK2. I still don't like the wallpaper on SK3. I want to choose my own.

Okay, I still need an answer..I heard that the keypad on SK3 has changed from SK2 rubber keypad. BSD can you confirm? I really like the rubber keypad.

the sidekick 3 has 3 new background images. Thats probably just one of them.

i think that this is most likely a "Theme" change that will be available. Most likely one of the many "Icon Theme Sets" you may choose from.

I don't think this is one of the new background images, but rather a choice for the Phone application's splash screen. I'm wondering if they're going to have options for other characters at the forefront.

With regard to the keypad, I personally love this change, as my SKII is used so often that the rubber keypad is starting to peel off of the unit and I have to press it back into place. I still love the device, but I'll love it even more with hard gel buttons.

Thanks for all the work BSD.

hm... on the screen it doesnt say T-Mobile in the top left. maybe this is the Danger version cause u know how they have different ppl on theires than T-Mobile.

Are there any more bombs to down!! So far, I am not unhappy with what I have see or heard about the SK3. Keep it coming. Does anyone have any idea of the price or the upgrade cost?

I highly doubt another carrier in the US will get the sidekick other than Suncom, which is really not a competitor to T-Mobile since they are a regional carrier. T-Mobile's parent company is a major investor of Danger so I doubt they would allow Danger to be seeking other carriers.

I dont get it why is there only five options on the jump screen, shouldnt there be more of them?

At 12:41 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

They stressed the Orange.. was he alluding to Cingular? That would be great! Cingular (in most places) has better reception than T-Mobile .. im keeping my fingers crossed

At 12:45 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

It dont say T-Mobile on the left hand upper corner deas it? i think it dont check it out

i guarentee all of you that no other network will pick it up besides suncom and for all whose wondering what it says in top left its hiptop jump

I rather that Sidekick 3 would go with cingular because its always work! Tmoible don't work everywhere so I don't like it. I want Sidekick 3 to be work everywhere like perfect! Its suck that sidekick 3 goes with tmobile! its not good enough!

At 7:24 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Okay, first it says T-Mobile on the edge of the screen.

Second, it says "T-Mobile" under the word phone in the screen. So obviously its operating on their network.

At 7:51 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

It's probably just a different version of the Hiptop OS used by Danger employees for testing. Perhaps the vector graphics of the girl and man we are seeing are the final versions that will appear in the OS that we all get to use?

And where in the sweet holy dickens did all this Cingular rubbish come from? It's for T-Mobile. Not Cingular. Stop rumor-mongering.

VIDEO VIDEO VIDEO VIDEO VIDEO VIDEO VIDEO VIDEO VIDEO!!!!.....

The orange shirt has noting to do with Cingular, it's Danger's company color. It says "Hiptop" on his shirt.

There still beta testing the Hiptop3, only there aren't Hiptop3 cases made yet, only Sidekick3 cases.

It's simply a Sidekick3 case running the "non-Tmobile"(as we call it) operating system. Unfortunately I wasn't able to participate in the beta testing program on this device; so I don't have any more information that you all don't already know. I do know one thing though, this thing is IMPRESSIVE in person!

It ain't coming to Cingular. Cingular can't have everything, even though those crazy pigs would love to get their hands on it. Too bad, Cingular sucks. I hope they go bankrupt for always being greedy to get a certain handset. Ex) Moto ROKR E1.

At 4:45 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

if they hinted at the orange being for cingular, why the heck does the phone itself still physically branded as T-Mobile? cingular isnt all that great in all corners of the US.

At 6:25 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Under the word phone it says 'T-Mobile' meaning that the carrier that it is currently running on is still T-Mobile. I agree, I am more than sure that T-Mobile has wrapped up a major deal making sure that they could not use Cingular etc.

At 7:55 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

If you gonna get a SK3 on Cingular, you might as well get it with T-Mobile. T-Mobile has roaming agreements with Cingular so everywhere u have a Cingular signal you can use your T-Mobile phone.

does anybody answer everyone elses questions on here?? i want to know if the sidekick 3's internet capabillities are going to be better, succh as entering flash sites and of that sort???

I'm worried about the new keyboard myself.

The SKII keyboard is truly perfect; if these new keys are hard and slick I'm going to be bummed out.

At 9:52 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

if that was for another carrier there wouldn't be a t-mobile emblem on it.

the SK3 allows you to download alternate backgrounds, which is shown in the manual..

At 12:23 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I'd be the most interested to know what sort of data plan will go with the SK3. It seems that everyone else is just assuming it will stay the same. If the sk3 has EDGE or EVDO, I could see them charging much more than they currently do.

Also. I asked a lady at cingular and she said that they will be changing their name back to AT&T. Isn't suncom part of AT&T? or am I wrong on that one>?
