Web surfing on the sidekick 3 is impressive at first because web pages load much faster than the previous model. However, some larger pages such as that from this blog site cannot even be loaded. The screen just froze. And if the site does load, the device ran out of memory, causing only a portion of the page to be loaded. I don't see this problem on the sidekick 2.
The AIM and MSN messenger log in to my account automatically when I powered up the device. Yahoo messenger still requires me to log in manually every time...which is no big deal but it's just a hassle.
I have the screen problem with my sk2 sometimes, you have to press x and get out of the web browser and then go back into it from the jump menu, it usually works for me but maybe it's different on the sk3?
I found out that alot of applications and games that I purchased with the sidekick 2 were no where to be found in the catalog of the sidekick 3!!!
Everything that I purchased previously had to be downloaded again and reinstalled MANUALLY. The catalog only has a few games and apps.
And Terminal is no where to be found!!!

As you can see, alot of apps and games available on the sidekick 2 is missing from the sidekick 3.
So my story is this... I live in Southern California approx 30 minutes from the T Mobile store which released the new SideKick 3.. I left my house at 12:00AM, the morning of the release. My Plan was to camp out like the many out there had planned to do, I was a good 5 minutes away when I reach for my wallet.. My desperate hands searched violently for my LV wallet that should be in my satchel. If you haven’t guessed already, I'll let you in on the reason I had to drive all the way home and was so frustrated, I didn’t camp out. I left my wallet at home! :(
Angry, I went to bed that night and decided to leave early in the morning to beat the infamous So Cal traffic. I left my house at 6AM and didn’t get to the store until 9:30AM. This is what its like to drive in commuting Southern California traffic. I stood in line and waited a total of 4 hours for my beauty.
The one thing I completely dislike about the phone is the fact that it feels like a hunk of plastic. Its so.. rough, edgy.. there was a sense of smoothness while I worked on my SK2.. and from the plastic keys on the keyboard to the clunky slide of the screen.. the phone leaves me feeling lifeless.. a small hindrance which will easily escape to the back of my mind as I listen to the awesome music and play with the cool track ball... I love my SK3!!!!!

For one of the lucky ones with a SKIII, can u plz tell me if they still have one of the 2 defects?? 1. does the dialing while on speakerphone work right, or is it still retarded? when you would dial with the SKII on speakerphone, it'd push the # twice, etc. 2. Can you still dial or push numbers, like if ur on 3 way or more with someone, b/c b 4 it wouldnt work when you tryed to dial prompts on 3 way??? thanks
I don't like how theb main buttons like menu, jump, etc. aren't lite up. They are so hard to see. I meen even though you should know where they are it is still hard. Also, I have to redownload all of my games and I don't know how to do that. So I gotta go call t-mobile now.
Here are things I really want/need:
BT communications like with computer, GPS reciever, headphones (not headset for phone only).
Ability to save emails/attachemnts to the miniSD
Ability to sync EMAILS (not just contacts and that stuff)
The buttons are smaller, on the side, that's ok but the ones for like to take pictures is more or less BEHIND the LCD screen harder to reach/locate now that they are even smaller and sunk in.

The overall design seems more plasticky with this round, don't know if I like the new keys.
For the love of god Danger, enable OBEX for bluetooth. I don't like having to USB my cellphone to dump pictures off, that's seriously a pain. Also, USB 2.0 connectivity wouldve done wonders for the SD card transfer rate.

At least I added the insurance this time. I could have paid less with a contract extension but the way I was treated by TMo when my screen cracked made me think about switching carriers. The SK3 is the only thing that kept me with them. Depending on how it goes with the new SK3 (today!) I still may get a Blackberry 8700c and switch to Cingular.

No AOL? How is this possible?
Also, every other app that I had purchased is not currently available. Even my ringtones! What is the reason for cutting down the catalog by 60-70%?
After I registered as a returning user.. a pop up apeared talking about how I could download the applications I previously purchased at no charge..
..So I'm assuming based off that pop up on my phone, that I will NOT have to rebuy all the apps I had before.. The problem is.. none of the apps I had before are in the catalogue..
This is in response to one of the questions about rebuying or redownloading.. They were not preloaded based of my account, I have to redownload.. but again.. catalogue is pretty much empty compaired to SK2.. I'm sure this'll be fixed with time.. perhaps by July 10th...
idk if i haven't figured it out yet, but i wish i could make the songs i put into my music player, as ringtones for the phone itself.
it'll take a while to get used to the main 4 buttons being so far from the corners...
other than that, i like it.
I don't have the phone yet, but my one single recommendation, for the safety and convenience of its users...
The Sidekick 3 needs to support Voice Dialing tags... ESPECIALLY having enabled us with Bluetooth headset... I'm thinking that with all the potential of the miniSD card serving as memory, it'll just take a OTA firmware upgrade to make this possible!

To me the SK3 feels delicate compared to the SK2. Like it was cheaply made and not as durable. I'm scared to just plop it down. I have to set it down carefully.
The shoulder buttons are harder to locate. I have to look for them instead of just feeling for them. And when you flip the screen open it just doesn't feel as sturdy as the SK2.
But it is is slimmer and I think looks much cooler. Overall, I like it a lot!
its funny how there are more comments about what you don't like on the new sidekick 3 than what you do like ... can it really be that great with so many bad things to say about it? just a thought.
Heads up to the people asking about making mp3s ringtones..
... at the moment you can't make that happen.. and to be honest.. as Cheap as Tmobile is.. it prolly wont.. they'll lose all revinue from the over priced ringtones bought in the catalogue...
i don't like the speaker...it's worse than the sk2..even at max level, the sound is softer.
i also don't like the swivel screen. The sk2 screen turned very smoothly...this sk3 screen hits the keys as it swings up and down and i can hear this plastic clickety sound..
The button on the top right is behind the screen and this makes it hard to locate it under soft lighting. I guess I can get used to it later.
The top and bottom of the screen is not really flush with the side of the case and is so...sharp and edgy..
I thought that one of the features on this would be the ability to increase the size of my mailbox or at least save messages to the card, but I can't figure out how to do either, and they're not mentioned in the manual. Is this really possible or was this vaporware?
I saw somewhere in the manual that reads you can save anything on the sd card but the sk3 can only read music and photo files.

even though the sk3 is under people's expectation, it's still a good device to use...especially since data usage is unlimited. I don't think you can have such a great plan using the mda.

Concerning that pop-up about the ringtones, games, programs, etc being purchased on the sk2 avail for the sk3 for free, i'm guessing the catalog isn't fully downloaded yet because the sk3 hasn't been released to everyone yet. that's my guess. lets just wait until july 10th?
For that question about the price.. The Sk3 is $300 witha 2-year contract, and $350, for a 1 year [I think].

I'm going through anxiety waiting for the ups man to drop mine off. I have to wait all the way unti tomorrow. That's the worst thing. If this phone isn't Da Bomb, I'll be disappointed for being so anxious.:)~~~
I just got mine today (ordered at 11pm CT Tuesday). Some initial thoughts:
-A major bummer that none of the applications seem to have been updated. The email application is exactly the same, still missing simple concepts like "check every x minutes."
-The screen flipping is definitely flimsier. It feels like the unit doesn't fit together quite right and there is a lot of nosie when opening the screen (no, my unit isn't broken). The SK2 screen was much more precisely fit.
-Previously downloaded apps can be redownloaded for free (so the text says), but the apps are mostly missing from the catalog (the terminal, pirhana). Seems like a lots few useful applications and more games. The SK3 is no gaming machine.
-As others have pointed out, TMobile has forced users to buy ringtones, greedy b*ast*rds.
-You have to remove the back in order to change the sd card and the included card is pretty useless (a paltry 64MB), forcing you to buy something bigger.
-USB1.1 instead of 2
-It's swell that you can use the old chargers, but the charger does not insert all the way, making it seem like you need to force it in farther... but don't do it.
-The keys are smaller and the plastic is definitely less appealing and useful than the SK2's nice rubber keys. Not any more "clicky" though.
-No rubber bumpers. There's no way to customize your SK3 (aside from the Beverly Hills Ghetto bling). I miss the nice feel of the rubber bumpers.
All in all, it'll be nice to have something faster and that probably makes the SK3 worth the money for me. But it's no slam dunk and Danger really missed an opportunity to take a huge step forward. The SK3 is just a baby step.

I FUCKING HAVE TO BUY ALL MY CAMES AGAIN!!!!! AND ALL MY RINGTONES (ABOUT 55 BUCKS!!!) CUZ THEY SUPPOSEVLY SAY THE GAMES ARENT COMPPATIBLE BS!!!!! i helped make bob and it used the jdk 2.0 platform (what the sk3 uses) and they still have the game in the catalog as proof.... So WTF!!
I liked the rubber keys from the SK2 but after typing on the SK3 with the hard plastic keys, I like the plastic keys better. I type faster and the feel is better and there is a smooth transition from key to key compare to the SK2 where there wasn't a smooth transition.

For the user about who wrote that one needs to choose the organizer in order to write notes.... you can always create a jump shortcut that points directly to that app

Stop complaining, you should have waited to see what other people had to say first. I for one like my sk3. One person was complaining about a small 64mb card. At least we got one. I bought the MDA before and that didn't come with anything. You say their greedy I think you're greedy! The phone is awesome. If you don't like it sell it on ebay to someone who will!

I wish the PIM was more robust. I'd like to synch with Outlook 2003, but I have a lot of info there, and feel it would be too much for the Sidekick to handle. That's why I still use a separate PDA for calendar, contacts, notes, etc.
I haven't gotten my sk3 yet but I just noticed in both topics of what you do and dont like.. nobody has uttered a word about the camera. Hows the camera/pictures?
I got my SK3 yesterday, played around with it...I LOVE IT!!! For the complainers about the ringtones and applications, give it time...they will be updated soon.. For all the complainers about not being able to syn with outlook get a DAMN laptop to carry or a blueberry..Get over yourself it is a "PHONE" and not a "COMPUTER"!

Damn, I just got my sk3 and it sucks. TMOBILE is just to greedy man. If tmobilw would allow us to sync and also use mp3s as rintones, than the phone would be ok. I wish all this and more is on the way in the OTA Update.

what i dont like is how long its taking for it to come in.
I just bought a Treo 700p from Verizon about a week ago. I was a sidekick 2 user before. For the money, the Treo 700p blows the new sidekick away. It can play video that was emailed to me, it can play any video I dump on it just like an ipod video. I can also stream video from sites like Comedy Central. The same goes for photos and music. I was really debating getting another sidekick but now after reading how cheap the new version sounds, I'm glad I went with the Treo. Just wanted to give my 2cents for those of you still thinking if you should get the sidekick 3.
I feel like TMo took more away than the gave me with the SK3.
I do like the form factor but I'm disappointed that they couldn't do more with the screen. When I look at the 18 months or so that have passed since the SK2, I can't help but wonder WHY??? In the fast paced world of mobile electronics, Danger/TMo can't afford half-assed upgrades.
The camera is so-so. Internal storage seems to have been reduced but the addition of the SD card storage is a plus.
The trackball is quite nice. But the loss of functionality (downloaded apps are what really made my SK2 super-useful) negates the hardware improvements. The keyboard is actually a lot better. The tactile feel is nice and it is likely to hold up far better over time.
The standard applications remain largely unchanged which seems to contradict the assertion that the catalog is empty because the other applications aren't compatible. Although the introduction of the trackball navigation probably has something to do with it.
The Music Player IS Music Player. I'm not sure why people keep referring to it as Sonic Boom. It's OK but it might be better with some visualizations.
Snow Bored is still there so that's a huge plus and also indicates how little change there is to the OS.
Bluetooth is a plus but I haven't had a chance to try a BT headset yet.
My recommendation if you have a perfectly working SK2 is to keep it. Wait for the next generation hardware. When Danger moved from the SK1 to the Color SK, I waited and was rewarded with the SK2. The SK3 is really no more than the Color SK in terms of its evolution from the previous model.
I'll keep mine, but I'm glad I didn't sign a 2 year agreement to get my hands on it because I'll probably swith to a Blackberry and a carrier with better national coverage.

the flipping part on the sk2 is much better than that of my sk3...it feelss soo fragile.
I think I'm going to get a Treo 700p from Sprint. It is only $100 more than the Sidekick, but less monthly for a voice & data plan. $50 for T-mobile $45 for Sprint. Sprint's data is much faster and Sprint has unlimited weeknights after 7PM on their voice plan.
I can't believe how disappointed everyone is with the Sidekick 3. It seems like Sharp/Danger/Tmobile really dropped the ball. Aside from the trackball (which seems like an awesome addition & should be on every web browsing device) and the MP3 player they haven't made any big improvements.

Go with the treo 700p. If you have Tivo you can watch your recorded shows on it. It seams like Danger just rushed to get something into the market until they can come in with a device that can really compete with all the new phones out there.
EDGE data, Bluetooth, SD Card slot, 1.3MP camera, and an mp3 player are not cutting edge features. The technology in the Sidekick 3 is about 12-18 months late.
The trackball is really the only unique addition to the Sidekick that is cutting edge. Granted the Sidekick already had a lot going for it like the keyboard, IM clients, multi-tasking, and server based data storage, so I guess the upgrades to the 3 is just enough to keep the phone relevant. Unfortunately I don't think it's enough to justify the price. The Sidekick 3 would make more sense at $250 rather than $400.

After reading these posts, I decided to return my SK3. The negatives seem to far outweigh the few positives. I was greatly disappointed to read that the Time Traveler application is not available for download. I use that everyday. I spoke to a Sidekick III specialist at T-Mobile who said that it will not be available in the near future, if at all, because of the upgraded processor in the SK 3. A new program has to be written.
The other big thing that disappointed me was that you cannot use mp3s as ringtones. The SK 3 specialist said that mp3 ringtones WILL DEFINITELY NOT be offered as an option with any future OTAs.
I am disappointed to return it.

Now that it's here, I could have waited. There's nothing specifically wrong with it. It's just that it doesn't live up to the hype, the wait, or the expectations. Feels more like a rebadged SK2 with a trackball than what should have been an SK3.

This Is Bullsgit, i got my sidekick 3 on the 29th and im returning it today on the 30th. Its a piece of shit defective one i think i dunoo im getting a new one hopefuklly. the aim never signed on the web browser didnt work Wtvr!
I don't like the fact that everything I paid for such as ringtones etc aren't moved to my new sdk3.The volume isn't as loud as I thought it would be. The loading of certain pages freezes up the screen and certain sites won't even open. I upgraded because I thought the phone would be much better,when in reality whats the big difference? I guess having mp3 on it because eveything else seems the same to me. I'm not happy at all with this phone
In defense of Danger I will say that their OS upgrades are usually pretty major and add huge features. The shift to a new processor may make the Sidekick 3 not seem like it's well tuned, but I know that when Danger finishes recoding their software and tools for Sidekick 3 it will be a major improvement over Sidekick 2. The cost of being an early adopter of new technology especially ones that do major processing changes like this is that you have to deal with some early bugs and annoyances. They will sort things out in a few months, you'll see.

faster my ass...... my sk2 was way faster.. i mean it might load fast. but it wont connect to ANY SITES and its takes forever to log on into aim msn ect. and like i keep loseing the G and it goes to 2 dots to 3 then to 2 then g for about 5 mins and redoes it
My two huge pet peeves about the SK3 that I get better reception/signal with SK2 than the SK3 at my house. And the web browser doesn't always work. I seem to get 3 dots much more than G than on the sk2.

Listen were all having the same problem with the 2 dots. no browser connection, aim takes 10 and 1/2 hours to sgn in. I thought i was the only one but i see others have the same problem.

I was gonna return mine but i dont want to regret it. i think whoever has a SK2 shud use it for now and keep the 3 on the side for now. Till t-mobile realeses more info about it.

the web browser aint working for me right now but aim msn yahoo and everything else is working for me but sometimes i keep losing reception.. i didnt have that issue with the sk 2...i see people are having that issue anybody else ?

Does anyone know if there is a clock (ie alarm) function available? It used to be in the download catalog for the sk2 but seems to be missing in the "upgraded" version. I'm really dependent on this function and am disappointed that I can not find it.

i like it overall! but the camera is suckier than the other phone! it leaves like an brown tint which sucks!
the thing is i dont think someone can really hate the sidekick 3 unless theyve had a sidekick 2 so all you people saying stop hating on it and get another phone, uve obviously never had a sidekick 2 because after reading all these comments, i hardly want a 3. i lost my sidekick 2 in mid april when they stopped selling it and my only option was to wait for the sidekick 3, which i do not want to get so thank you everybody for your input
I agree with the person who said that the SK3 didn't live up to the hype or price (to me). Not being able to convert my MP3's into ringtones sort of blows. I cannot stand the background, the characters look very juvenile (yes, I am aware that this mobile is targeted towards a young demographic, but come on, we're not all 12-15 years old) and the fact that I can't customize the background also blows. The screen is a disappointment, pretty washed out. The camera is subpar. It's exterior looks and feels sort of cheap. The speaker phone volume is not very loud at all, even at maximum. Everytime I turn it on I get a screen that says "Waiting for Activation" and I've called TMo and they confirmed that my account is activated, so it's just frustrating to have to press menu+L just to make a call or text. I purchased the Data Plan and my SK3 still won't connect to the web. After being passed on to a bunch of Customer Serv. Reps. and waiting for about an hour just to get passed on again, I am now pretty much disillusioned with my SK3. Although there are a couple of things that I do like about the SK3, like the Bluetooth addition, the keyboard (very well spaced out with a nice smooth feel) and the trackball (nifty little thing, I'm quite fond of the colors). All in all, I can't help but feel that the SK3 was rushed out, rather than a vast improvement/upgrade of its predecessor. I am willing to give it a couple more days, but I have a gut-wrenching feeling that I will return it.
I called the T-Mobile customer care tonight, they said that the web browser is a known issue and it should be resolved within 5-6 hours.
bumper location is horrible....I can't find them with out feeling around for them... hopefully I will get use to its location..... other thsn that I love it

the internet is supossedly faster (however as those who have it know - the sk3 webbrowser is DOWN until saturday or sunday).
so - i cant really test the internet.
it seems faster in general - things dont lag as much.
its a smaller handheld - so the buttons are smaller and less accessable. no big deal - as with any phone give that time and you dont even have to look to type or answer or whatever.
about it feeling more "flimsy" - its about the same - its just more of a shiny plastic that makes more of a clicking sound then the previous matte plastic and rubber keys.
when i first charged it - it said "battery 358%"
obviously - not a good sign - but directly after it said 80.

NO it is not triband, it has 3 frequencies but one of those is a Tmobile only frequency so no, it is not a real triband, effectively it only has 2 frequencies, Stupido
What is a TMO only frequency? There is no such thing.
In Europe GSM started with 900mhz (yes GSM also started as such in Europe) then later on they addedd 1800mhz in larger metropols to be able to add channels. The Sk3 is an 850/1800/1900 phone, where the 1800 is the only NON US spec frequency. Yes its a TRIBAND (any phone with three freq is a "TRIBAND") the fact that it uses an somewhat unusual combination of frequencies does NOT make it "not a triband" though.
Do you travel much to Europe with your SKs? Why is it so essential for you to have 900mhz?
Jesus, the sidekick 3 is TRIBAND. It supports 850/1900/1800MHz. Both 850MHz and 1900MHz are in North America. 1800MHz is in Asia and Europe. Accept the fact! MDA isn't even triband, it's QUADBAND. It supports 850/1900/1800/900 which will work in a little more countries, I guess.

Is anyone having trouble pairing their sk3 with Bluetooth? The directions seem simple but when I select the "pairing" option there are no devices to select from. I can't tell if I'm doing something wrong or if this is a malfunction. Thanks

There really is no country differences between 900 and 1800. the 900 is the base GSM network (excluding North America) and 900 will work everywhere (exc. NA) where there is GSM, only in some larger metropols you are better off with 1800, as the GSM network is so cramped that you might not be able to use the 900 very "well" in peak hours and such due to it being so busy the 1800 was put in place to take care of this in more busy cities and/or events.

This business about a lot of the apps not being available, not good. Anyone call tmobile to see how long it will take danger to port those apps? One of the main reasons I have this phone is the terminal client. If the fix is in the works, good, I will just hold off on putting my sim card in. If that app isn't going to be available period, I will be selling my 3.
I have heard mixed reviews on the keyboard, may have to see for myself.

Does people know if the browsing web feature have been fixed yet?
I was pretty concerned when I found out that the Download Catalog didn't have most of the apps I had on my Sk2. And I'm not talking about just Ringtones/Games (I can survive without those). In particular, the apps listed under "personal productivity". Anyway, I wrote Danger and this is what they responded:
"Danger and its third party developers are working hard to make updated versions of OS v2.3 applications available for OS v3.0. Please understand that this effort is in place and all parties are working hard to accelerate the porting process.
Certain business-critical applications, such as Terminal and Time Traveler, are indeed in the porting process and are being moved along as quickly as possible."
So I guess that means its "on its way". I just hope sooner than later. I can't help from wondering why they couldn't get all this settled before the release...

Let me tell all of you, I am veeery glad what all of you didn't like SK3. Why? I didn't plan buying new SK3 yet! Also,I have been color SK user have problem with stuck wheeltrack and frozen three dots dances and catalog veeeery limit and looong wait "X" antanna won't work... Soo.. What I read your saying about between SK2 and SK3 are same and not enough louder.
MY SK2's problem is "X" won't appear the antanna. I decided go to see saleman at the T-Mobile store. I talked with guy about what's happened the antanna won't work. I allow the guy check on my color SK. He informs me that my SIM card is doing fine.... I puzzle it.

I bought new brand BlackBerry 8700 is much better than SK3!!! you know why?? this blackberry 8700 can downlaod more applications as unlimit, speaker is very powerful louder, web browser is great. desktop theme and wallpaper what you want. YOU can put your own family picture downlaod to BlackBerry 8700 use that wallpaper!! AND IT CAN PUT GPS NAVIGATION! I am verry sorry and feel bad for all of you complian about SK3 is not satified. Well they seem 2 have resolved the web browsing problems. Mine seems zippier today. Mine will still NOT link up with my bluetooth headset (which works fine with my tmo sony T610), so that sux.
All in all I think if u r happy with your sk2, don't bother upgrading. The 3 isn't that much better, at least not 4 me.
I didnt have an SK2 ... but i definitly love the three .. its really fast and i like the sound on it .. hasnt frozen up .. battery wears down a little fast for me .. but im on aim with it basically all day talking to people .. so thats really understandable .. i love it .. so easy to type .. navigave menus .. trackball is AMAZING, mp3 player is amazing .. basically i love the phone .. theres really nothing wrong with it to me .. You know what I find funny about this all:
1. You already knew the features that were gonna be on the sidekick 3. You already knew that there would be ringtone problems. You already knew that everything wouldn't be perfect. I think you should be in a developer's shoes for a day and see how difficult it is to make a great phone when your customers are hounding you down for a new product. Creating applications are very difficult processes. They have to be continually tested over and over. You already knew that T-Mobile was gonna mess up. This is how its always been so why are you so surprised. You try exchanging everyone's information and their frequencies on there phones when there are about 20,000 people calling at one time. Patience is a virtue. I Don't Like How People Are Disrespecting the Sidekick 3 but they know it has the best Instant Messenger and browsers. And for those who didnt know, the MDA and SDA are open to viruses, glitches, and easy breakdowns and the internet is slower than the sidekick 2. The blackberry is gigantic and clunky and you better hope it doesnt drop or your in for some trouble. If you want a deluxe system, buy a laptop with voice calling.

I live in NYC and I usually take the train, of course that is where I would lose signal, so when I usually play with my SK3 on the train, I noticed the words "Cingular" popped up where the "T-Mobile" or "Searching..." words would usually be on the Phone/Jump menu. Did anyone else noticed this?

my main problems today
after an OVERNIGHT charge - i unplugged it to 80% charge
it quickly dropped to 50 - then to 20.
stayed at 20% for about 6 hours.
what the hell.
also it is - at its loudest - not loud at all.
i miss calls, texts, etc.
its vibrate is less intense then the sk2 - which when in loud situations - you will miss calls.
my bluetooth synced perfectly though.
im going to keep this - but keep my sk2 as a back up for when i am in europe/tour.
its speedy internet locks up.
and i still get logged off of myspace! haha.
the track ball is hard to control - i think its less efficiant - and it makes my wrist hurt when using it excessively - rather then the wheel.
i dont know if they can make the volume louder - or whatever - but as i went though 5 sidekick 2's - im sure when i get to my 3rd sidekick 3 - itll be on point.
or maybe they will release a sk3.5 this winter and piss everyone off.

To the guy who is thinking of getting a SK, what type of budget are you on? What do you want to do with it? How important is size/weight/form factor? Right around now is one of the best times to get a great sk2 for a great price because so many sk3 owners are selling theirs...

Since this is the forum about what I DONT LIKE, I'll list them:
1. The sk3 feels like a cheap piece of crap.
2. When you open the screen, it rubs against the side - not smooth.
3. BARELY anything has changed with the screen.
4. Nothing new besides music player.
5. I lose connection a lot for some reason.
However, you put it up against your sk2 and the sk2 looks sooo outdated! Besides that, sk3 feels a bit cheap

Basically when the sidekick 2 came out everyone was slamming it. Saying the same things. The only real difference between the sidekick color and sidekick 2 was the design of it and a couple of things in the OS. You people make me laugh. I heard it all when the sidekick 2 hit stores. People said it didn't have a mp3 player, the screen feels flimsy and cheap, etc, etc, etc, etc, .... Now that the sidekick 3 it here those same people are complaining again about things they wanted in the sidekick 2. Someone posted it earlier but you knew what the features were before you bought it so don't complain about what it doesn't have.
My battery has been recharging since 10:55 am and its 5:10 pm and the lighting bolt icon is still there and the bars are still going....it never took this long to recharge when i got the sk2 well its been like this since i got it so i dont know the battery seems fishy to me....anybody wit the same issue ? or want to say anything ?

i have a glitch wit u already dam now i have 2 send ur ass back..lol.. Yo everybody my sk3 kept recharging since yesturday 10:55 am and was still going at 5 pm.....so i took out the battery for an hour and put it back at 7pm and was still charging at 1 am in the morning...sounds like a glitche because ontop of that when i turned it on the battery would go out in 3 hours or less

are you charging it while it's on or off? My friend says that while it's off the lightening bolt will never go away as if it's still charging (even though it's done). But if you charge it while it's on, the track ball will flash green when it's done charging. Try that!!!

Nah dude when i had the sk2 the bolt icon would go away to indicate that the charging cycle is complete thats how it goes with that one and this one same thing man...the bars just keep going from left to right hour after hour and dosent stop been like that almost for 2 days on the charger

What is with the CHARGER? Is it supposed to fit in ALL the way? In the Sk2 it does but Im scared if I push it in any more on the Sk3 it will break the phone. Whats the final word?
Everyone is talking so poorly about the sidekick. But they still have it. Listen people its just a device and the next one is coming out within a tear and a half they are already working on it and it should have video calling. Anyway Stop knocking it and take it for what it is a device that you will use for the time being until the next hot thing comes out. It serves its purpose you can acces the internet, play music send messages and use your phone. What more do you want would you like it to bathe you. I admit that would be nice but we have to be reasonable its just a fad and we should do like any other fad milk it for all its worth.

ive been with the sk3 for about a whole day and a half now and i think the good out weighs the bad. i mean, not every phone is meant for everyone, so for the hardcore business oriented should stay with a Q, Palm, Treo, etc.. the SK is really for the fun factor.. and coolness.. it doesnt do as much as the other PDA,s but for what it does its great at it.
So far my battery sticks runs more than the SK2, but i think thats because of the mp3 player playing most of the day..
the volume of the phone is not nearly half as loud as the sk2, which i like because you always knew when a call was coming.. with the sk3 ive missed a few calls and didnt even notice some txt msges come in...
thats really my main concern right now, but im sure ill get over it..

Am i the only one who feels the battery sucks? The sidekick 2,my batter can last the whole day by changing a few of the display feautures (like dimming the screen and etc) but i did those same changes for the Sidekick 3 and the battery still seems to go quickly.
I don't like that.
It doesn't ring loud enough, I'm mad i have 20 applications that i couldn't use on the sk3, all my ringers gone, the flip's transition isn't as smooth as the sk2. The memory card only holds about 10 songs, The battery dies quicker while im at work than when i had my sk2, Web freezes too damn much. The screen really does suck, But I'll get used to it. Just like the sk2. I didn't like it that much at first.
This may sound like a simple thing, but has anyone else gotten the trackball to light up in unison with a song playing on the Music Player?
i dont like how its taking so long to activate...

YES IT'S WORTH IT ... It does lack in some aspects of being a smartphone but having an mp3 player, faster web browsing, blue tooth, AIM, Yahoo and MSN messenger .... it can't be beat. The data plan is the best around for the price. Bottom line is it's way better than the sidekick 2. They could've made better improvements but it's still worth every penny. Buy it and enjoy!!
Phone could of been so much more. Maybe the OTA update will change some things but not all nor close to what we all would like to see this phone have. Traded it in for the blackberry. Awesome! Blows the sk out of the water. Only thing it doesnt have is camera but who cares about a camera phone. Plus, they are suppose to realease a cam one before 07. Not to meantion the BB was 100 dollars cheaper! Sidekick is just a lable whore phone. They rely on the celebrities to make it big Then they cheaply make it and market it for teenagers. If you love it, good for you. Enjoy the phone. If you hated it like i did, go get a BB, you will be very pleased with the device as I am!
crackb is a hideous phone none of those phones that have keyboard have a cool factor as close to the sidekick theyre for geeks as the sidekicks are for cool people.
I got my Sidekick 3 yesterday and i like everything except the speakerphone, it's too quiet. But know my sidekick is broken...i dropped it :(
