I want to upgrade but I just purchased my SK2 in December only 6 mos into the new contract. Does anyone know if you are able to get a discount or would you still have to pay full price?
I have seen the screen two and it's not really terrible, but it is really far behind anything that has come out in the last 2 years.
who sidi it was bad? looks pretty good to me.
the screen is decent, but don't hold it up to ANY other new phone because then you will realize you are living in the STONE age. Why couldn't Danger make it better?
The screen is really weak...I think its just lame because the SK3 has bluetooth and a 1 mp camera and an sd slot...nothing more!

the screen sucks, it looks washed out...like it was left out in the sun for a month outdoors and it fried. People will buy it but people will hate the screen.
I guess it's very like... ummm... obvious what the result would be asking it on a website dedicated to the sidekick 3 itself but that's just my opinion anyways.
Judging since the screen quality is not a HUGE jump from the sidekick 2, I guess it really is the 2.5 version. If people love the sidekick 2, it's just the same thing, but pretend it's a very expensive upgrade with bluetooth && MP3 player.
So, I'm saying if you love the sidekick 2, you're going to love this just the same && a bit more because it's just that... but a bit more.
I still voted no because I'm not a big fan about the price nor size but if the "roadmap" is true, we have more the wait for down that road.

As someone that was using a 2nd Gen Color Sidekick, I have to say that I absolutely must have one of these. :D
Everyone thinks this is too expensive? The SKII (with discounts) is $249.99 on t-mobile.com right now with new activation, and the SK3 is going to be $299.99 with new activation...
..is it just me or are people dumb? If you have used your SKII for the past 2 years (and um, I got my SKII for free through amazon.com) I don't see why upgrading is really terrible--if you had t-mobile already, and actually PAID for your SKII--I could understand a little bit.. but you're really paying for trendy-ness. But that's not even that bad--since I got the SKII for free, I'm going to spend money on the SK3 and sell my SKII on eBay. That's approx $150 for 2 brand new devices in 2 years (at least in my situation).
For the person above, like you just said "at least in my situation" && you just said you could understand the other situation... how are you admiting that you're wrong but then defend your arguement... ? Anyways. $300 is still expensive not only because [duh] it cost more but considering the other phones.
The sidekick 2 is STILL $250 even though it's "discontinued" or whatnot.
&& then you have the treos && "crack"berries that though it's the old versions sells from $100 to $200 && not discontinued.
So, considering the other phone selections there are, it's quite an expensive brand overall. Probably better... or not, but expensive.
Then you got the normal selection phones like flip or bar phones, but I don't think there are many people looking for that kind here.

Oh, && I just remembered something.
It's $300 for basically an upgrade feature: new camera, MP3 player, etc.
Which is quite expensive.
BUT I must admit, I do like the razr phones && each one is basically the same: with added iTunes, etc.

What I was trying to get across above (about the price points and me being in my situation) is that one device is $250 (SKII) and one device is $300 (SK3). View them just as what they are--two totally different devices. One has more features than the other and there is a reason one has a "II" after the name and one has a "3" after the name.
It doesn't matter if you are buying with a new account or upgrading--you're still getting a new device--and you can always just sell your old device on eBay--if you even have one--to kill that price a bit (if you're upgrading).
As for it being expensive compared to other devices--of course it is. It's a sidekick, it's trendy. People pay to be trendy. Not everyone gets a sidekick for all the technical stuff. When I saw the SKII and decided to get one, I honestly had no clue what it did other than being a cell phone that ran AIM using data instead of text. I wanted it because it was cool and it did something nifty that I could use.
I'm not trying to create argument, but all those people saying "PSH, GET THE MDA!" because it can do more than the SK3... this makes no sense. A lot of users don't give a crap. It's something new and fun to use--not everyone views it as a slight upgrade--and because of that, they'll pay for it; and I am definately one of those people.

I can see what you're talking about && it's a valid point. Agree to disagree a bit. Woot. But I have to admit, I am going to use the "look at it as two different device" point for the 'Razr' because I'm a fan of those as well.

So it need new razr sk4.... Better than sk3. Its probably january 2007 new razr sk4 like live, 3 mp camera, mp3, video recorder, touchscreen, soft-touch qwerty keyboard unlike hard, games like psp, night vision, 1gb card, higher res, wi-fi, all aready has msn, aol, yahoo, minisd card, tty relay service, bluetooth, web browser, ituner, I think...I'm next new razr sk4 in 2007 early
