"I work for Microcell Fido. Word around our office in Canada right now is that some of the execs have been receiving memos and faxes that were first sent to some of our secretaries regarding the Hiptop 3 coming to Fido. What we've been hearing is that Fido will begin making changes to the company's EDGE capabilities as well as the H/MEM and servers to accommodate the Hiptop 3. It sounds like it will be released in Canada on Fido in January 2007 marketed as the Fido Hiptop 3v."

I'm on Fido, have the hiptop 2. I can't wait. But, This is fake...there is no "Microcell". Rogers bought Fido like two years ago....Microcell is long gone.

I was told by a T-Mobile authorized dealer yesterday that the SK3 won't be coming out until Dec / Jan 2007. I find that hard to believe...my guess is they want me to purchase another phone/plan and then hope I purchase the SK3 when it does comes out this summer.

this isnt fake. my fido phone was bought through microcell. microcell, i think, is just an authorized retailer for fido products.
what i want to know is, if i bought a sidekick 3 in the states and brought it home to toronto and installed my sim card, will all the features work between july 2006 and january 2007... or do i just have to be patient and wait for the new year?
Microcell...IS IN FACT...the old name of the company. Microcell was Fido. Not some reseller of products and services.

You have no clue what you're talking about. Before the buy out by Rogers 2 years ago, we used to have to write "Microcell Solutions" on cheques we send to pay our Fido bills. Remember? Yeah.
Now its just called "Fido Solutions", owned by Rogers Wireless.
Rogers bought Microcell, and Microcell does not even exist, nor has it for a very long time.
